The article goes on to say that 23 million Americans (almost 1 in 10 ) are addicted to alcohol or other drugs. If sugar addiction is added to this equation, I would imagine that the person reading this could be added to this list. We must add all those that cannot abstain from this crystallized substance. For example, recently I had seen an associate that tore up over ten packs of sugar in his coffee cup and another that poured five teaspoons of sugar in a small Styrofoam for his Cup ‘o Joe every morning! If you don’t see this as a perceivable chemical addiction, then you too are blind to what is. Sugar causes the brain to react the same way as street drugs. The health effects may not be as immediate as other drugs, but the slow and unrestrained degradation of our bodies is just as harmful to our health and well-being. Obesity is just one of the multitudes of harmful maladies that refined sugar causes. Are you still unconvinced? Watch this you tube video.
You may or may not be a prisoner to the sweet sensation that is cloaked in an innocent deception. What about the 23 million Americans who may have needed more than what refined sugar offers? What if they were the 1 in 10 that did not have enough gratification from refined sugars and needed a more powerful drug to bring about the effects of pleasure to the brain to escape the failures, boredom, weaknesses, frustrations, and grief? Millions counter these emotions by consuming “Comfort Foods,” which are snacks that are ridden with sugar toxins that create dopamine in the brain. By eating these foods, people can forget for a brief moment and must do it all over again, and again, and again. Refined sugar causes a high that is not high enough for some, so they find other dependencies that lead to internal and eternal destruction.
So, is a child that screams, rants, and throws a fit because you denied him/her that candy stored in your pantry a potential or future addict? Don’t be surprised that child is addicted already! The obesity rate and use of drugs are on the rise and sugar accounts for part of this trend or maybe all of it!
Health to you,

Blackstrap Molasses is the darkest color molasses you can get, and this indicates the presence of less sugar, and more nutrients.
Thanks for that resource. I will check it out and do some research.
